For the first time in the 400 year history of our church, we had the privilege of hosting the Mayor’s Civic Service.
The Mayor of Burgh le Marsh Cllr. Neil Cooper, kindly chose the Burgh Baptist Church as the venue to hold his Civic Service.
The Mayor, Cllr. Neil Cooper held his Civic Service at the Burgh Baptist Church on 22nd November. It was the first time in the 400 year history of the church that a civic service had been held there.
Cllr. Cooper emphasized that Burgh le Marsh had a wonderful community spirit, which was very important, something that the town could be proud of.
The very well attended event also included the official presentation of awards to the winning categories of the East Midlands in Bloom Competition held earlier in the year in which Burgh le marsh gained a prestigious Bronze award. This was the combination of determination and hard work by local residents & organisations, especially the dedication of Burgh le marsh Town Councillors, Cllr. Dave Fenton & Cllr. Michael Martin.
